FAQ's

Q: How long does a synthetic turf field last?

A: Synthetic turf fields has a warranty for 8 years, however with proper maintenance and repairs the Turf and other artificial surfaces may last up to 10 to 12 years.

Q: Is maintenance of synthetic turf required?

A: While much less work is required than with a natural grass field, synthetic turf needs to be maintained as well to maximize longevity. Minimal maintenance should include brushing up the fiber and for a deeper cleaning; sweeping is recommended twice a year to remove debris. However, depending on the type of surface and usage, more maintenance may be required to remove contamination and de-compact the in-fill.

Q: What is covered under my synthetic turf warranty?

A: Since most synthetic turf fields are warrantied for eight years, any natural wear is not covered and preventative maintenance is the responsibility of the owner such as; grooming and deep cleaning. On the other hand, open seams and loose in-lays should be the responsibility of the turf company that did the installation and they would need to be notified within the eight years.

Q: How do I know if my synthetic turf is safe after the warranty has expired?

A: The number one priority is the safety and well-being of anyone using the fields. Although there is not a specific time or guidelines as to frequency of G-max testing, which is testing the hardness of the surface, over time your field will be become firm and could become a safety concern.
